Profile Summary
- James has over 20 years' experience in the construction industry, principally in contracting both in the commercial and housing sectors.
- Prior to joining Melbury, James was a Commercial Manager for two of the leading fit out contractors in the South East, and in that role administered the financial management and reporting of several projects, and liaised with other departments within those companies to ensure that the companies maintained their strategic positions within a very competitive market.
- James has also worked as a Contracts Manager for a Joinery Contractor, and in that capacity was heavily involved with tendering, design liaison, programming, scheduling, buying, management and quality assurance.
- James is also a qualified Carpenter and Joiner.

- Commercial procedures including pre-tender budgets, preparation and settlement of tenders, value engineering, design development, contract vetting, contract administration, contract account management, and dispute avoidance techniques.
- Ability to understand and assess a situation, consult and consider the best options to achieve a cost effective and rapid solution.
- Possesses extensive practical and managerial experience in the construction industry, experience that encompasses virtually all aspects of construction techniques, quantity surveying and management functions of a building contractor.
